3rd GRADE CHICAGO TRIP
Students in third grade learned about Chicago's past and present in Social Studies class, and researched landmarks in Research class during the fourth quarter. As a culminating activity, on June 1st, students went to the Willis Tower to try to see, as much as they could through the cloud breaks, the rest of Chicago from the 103rd floor. Students ate lunch by the Tribune Tower before boarding a Wendella boat. On the boat, students were given an in-depth narrated tour of the buildings, the lock system, the Chicago River, and Lake Michigan.
All the students that attended had a great time and were able to connect what they learned in Social Studies and Research class to what they saw. For some of the students, it was their first time downtown, on the river, and on the lake.
