Letter to Parents
Week of June 15, 2020
Dear Canty Families:
Please see below for important updates this week.
Transferring out of Canty (Grades K-7 ONLY)? - Please complete THIS FORM (once per student) so that we can process your transfer in the CPS system and we can send records when CPS resources open.
Yearbooks - Yearbooks have not been delivered. Once yearbooks arrive, families who ordered yearbooks will be emailed to pick them up at a date and time to be determined.
Grade Level Supply Lists - Grade level supply lists will be posted on the Canty website by the end of this week. There will also be updates for families on Thursday, June18th by grade level with welcome letters and supply lists for next year.
Homeroom Assignments - Homeroom assignments will be loaded on the student and parent portal in August. Requests to change homeroom assignments will not be considered.
Retrieval of Student Items and Return of Canty Property - One parent/guardian should come to retrieve each child’s personal items and to return all Canty property. This includes, but is not limited to: textbooks, library books, chromebooks. Consumables (ie: workbooks) do not need to be returned.
Our school will be following the schedule below. If you are unable to collect your child’s items during the designated times, please contact Ms. Puckett directly at smcglynn@cps.edu by June 18th.
You do not have to pick up belongings if you do not feel comfortable in doing so. However, ALL Canty items must be returned. Reach out to Ms. Puckett (smcglynn@cps.edu) to schedule a drop off time.

All members of our school community must follow these guidelines while retrieving personal items:
I am committed to making this process as safe as possible and, as always, am here to support you, your child, and our Canty community in any way I can.

- Only one parent/guardian should come to assigned door above to retrieve your child’s belongings and return Canty property. You must maintain at least six feet of space from others while on school property.
- Children should not be left unattended on school property. If your child is with you, he or she should wait outside (away from pickup line) or in the car with another adult family member.
- You must bring a cloth face covering to wear while interacting with school personnel.
- You may not come to Canty under the following circumstances:
- You are ill.
- You have been ill with COVID-19 and your symptoms first appeared less than 10 days ago.
- You have been ill with COVID-19 and have had a fever or respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) within the last 72 hours.
- You are awaiting COVID-19 test results.
- You have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
