ENROLLMENT INFORMATION
Canty is a neighborhood school and has an attendance boundary. Students who live within this area may attend our school. Click on the CPS school locator link to verify your address.
If you are enrolling your child in 1st-8th grade, please make sure you bring all their transfer papers and medicals from their previous school.
All new students must provide proof of required immunization and health exams at the time of enrollment. Currently enrolled students must also provide proof of immunization and exam at specific grade levels (Pre-K, K, 6 and 9) no later than October 15th. |
ALL of the required registration forms below must be printed, completed, and submitted when registering your child.

Your child must be 5 years of age before September 1, 2019 in order to be enrolled for Kindergarten. Students must reside in our attendance area to attend Canty School. To register your child, parents must provide 2 proofs of current address (gas, electric, water bill etc.); a Photo ID with current address; and child’s original birth certificate. Cellphone bills, credit card and/or bank statements will NOT be accepted. When registering your child, all utility bills and photo ID should be of the parent who is filing out the registration forms. (Registration forms are available below).
All of the required registration forms must be printed, completed and submitted when registering your child. Kindergarten is full day (8:00 am - 3:00 pm) with a 20 minute lunch, 25 minute recess, and 60 minutes of an ancillary class per day (P.E., Dance, Music, Library, Art). |

As a part of a city-wide effort to ease the process of enrolling your child in preschool, you will now be able to apply online for preschool programs offered by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and the Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS)-- both schools and community-based partners. This application will be for children who will be 4 years old prior to September 1, 2019. |
